The founding team for Financial Literacy for Kids is comprised of people with a broad range of expertise. Bright minds from fields including investment banking, education, non-profit, business and law have been selected to drive forward an ambitious venture. The team is led by:
Stephen H. Hays: Founder and Chairman
Steve is currently a principal of Old Greenwich Capital, a micro investment banking firm in Tampa, FL. After an MBA from Boston College in 1975, he migrated to Wall Street to be a stockbroker working for Oppenheimer & Co, Laidlaw Adams & Peck, and Weatherly Securities before heading to FL where he has been involved with a number of start-ups, acquisitions and offerings and more recently as a mergers and acquisitions advisor. He is also a volunteer fireman in Point O’ Woods, NY.
Rob Sansome: Senior Vice President
A former Bank of America executive, commercial pilot and Canadian, Rob is passionate about financial literacy and has spent his years since retirement from BAC as a consultant and frequent lecturer on the topic, having served on the board of Jumpstart in FL and having helped KidsWealth develop its business plan. Rob’s current focus with trueWEALTH Ventures is business development for charter schools, independent schools, youth organizations and church groups.
Roy W. Miller: Consultant
Roy has been a professional writer since 2005. Before that, he was in IT for over 10 years starting with Andersen Consulting in Washington, DC and later with a small software development company in North Carolina. He’s been an entrepreneur, a business executive and a strategic thinker and planner. When Steve Hays approached him in 2008 to write a manifesto for waking America up to our current path of financial ruin, he knew it was a perfect fit.
Jackie L. Booth, PhD: Consultant
Currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the National Endowment for Financial Education, Jackie is a highly regarded financial literacy curriculum development and evaluation consultant. She is also an Advocacy Board member for the USF Stavros Center for Free Enterprise and Economic Education. Jackie is currently assisting trueWEALTH Ventures with content development.
Richard T. Welch: Our financial architect, shareholder and prospective Director
Rick is a CPA and is currently a principal of Welch Business Solutions, a small business advisory consultancy. He currently sits on the boards of Coast Dental, Albiorex, Orthopedic Development Corp. Previously Rick was CFO and then Chairman of Sports Authority, CFO of Vision Twenty One, both public companies and has advised on numerous start-ups and effected many financings and M&A transactions.

Darrell is a partner in the corporate practice group in the Tampa, Florida office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP. His principal areas of practice are securities law, financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and related transactional and general business law matters.
